Benito spent $1512 to operate his car last year. Some of these expenses are listed below. Benito's only other expense was for gasoline. If he drove 8061 miles, what was the average cost of the gasoline per mile?

    This is the concept of rate. The average cost of gasoline per mile will be:

    Average cost=[amount]/[distance]

    =1512/8061

    =0.188 dollars per mile

    =0.188 $/M
