Carina spent a total of $5.27 buying a pineapple for $3.40 and several pounds of tomatoes that were on sale for $0.85 per pound. To determine the number of pounds of tomatoes that she bought, x, Carina wrote and solved the equation as shown below

    If you subtract $3.40 from $5.27 you get $1.87, then divide by. 85 and you get 2.2. what are your answers?
