The equation of the line L1 is y = 2x + 5

The equation of the line L2 is 2y - 4x = 6

Show that these two lines are parallel.

    Re arrange the second equation ...

    2y=4x+6

    Divide all through by 2 to get

    Y=2x + 3

    Two lines are parallel if they have the same gradient and since both of their gradients are two it means that they are parallel
