    Hello:

    This number is : x

    you have : x + 2x² = 6

    2x² + x - 6 = 0

    Δ = b² - 4ac a = 2, b = 1, c = 6

    Δ = 1² - 4 (2) (6) = 49 = 7²

    X1 = ( - 1 + 7) / 4 = 3/2

    X2 = (-1-7) / 4 = - 2
