    Erin was incorrect in calculating the distance between Amarillo to Lubbock.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Given:

    Erin saw a sign that read,"Amarillo 100 miles, Lubbock 80 miles.

    We need to find that whether she concluded correctly or not.

    Solution:

    Now Given:

    She concluded that the distance from Amarillo to Lubbock is 100-80=20 miles

    Now we know that;

    Distance between Amarillo, Texas and Lubbock, Texas is approximately 123.6 miles.

    Now we can say that;

    She was on a location while driving from where Distance of Amarillo was 100 miles while from the current location distance of Lubbock was 80 miles.

    Whereas Lubbock and Amarillo are on different paths and distance would be different though.

    She interpreted it wrongly about the distance from Amarillo to Lubbock is 100-80=20 miles; As she thought both would be on same path.

    But the actual the distance from Amarillo to Lubbock is 123.6 miles approximately.

    Hence We can say that;

    Erin was incorrect in calculating the distance between Amarillo to Lubbock.
