{y=x-6

{3x+2y=8

Use the substitution method.

    Y=x-6

    3x+2y=8

    Using substitution method:

    3x+2 (x-6) = 8

    3x+2x-12=8

    5x=20

    x=4

    Now substitute x in one of the two equations given to find y:

    y=4-6

    y=-2

    The solution is (4,-2).
