A pet store has 26 rabbits and hamsters. The number of rabbits is two more than double the number of hamsters. Which equation below can be used to solve for the number of rabbits, r?

A) 2r + 26 = 4r - 2

B) 26 + r = 2r - 2

C) 2r + 26 = r - 2

D) 26 - r = 2r + 2

    26 - r = 2r + 2

    Two more: + 2

    Double the number of hamsters: 2r

    Dont forget to put - r since there are both rabbits and hamsters (assume h) r + h = 26, h = 26 - r

    2r + 2 = 26 - r, don't forget the hamster.
