    8+7q. q alone represents 1q and you can't add 8 and 7q because they are unlike terms, so you would leave it as 8+7q.

    8+7q, is this in simplest form, because you treat each "q" as the number 1, and each numbered q (6q) as what ever number there is before it. but these numbers may only be added or subtracted to another "q" number
