5/x+1/3=6/x what is the number I multiply both sides by?

    First multiply both sides by x to eliminate the x on the right.

    5 + (1/3) x=1

    Multiply by 3 to get x by itself

    x=3

    Substitute 3 for x.

    5/3+1/3=6/3
