Carissa also has a sink shaped like a half-sphere. The sink has a volume of 660 pi inches cubed. One day, her sink clogged. She has to use one of two conical cups to scoop the water out of the sink. The sink is completely full when Carissa begins scooping.

(A) One cup has a diameter of 5 inches and a height of 8 inches. How many cups of water must Carissa scoop out of the sink with this cup to empty it? Round the number of scoops to the nearest whole number.

(B) One cup has a diameter of 10 inches and a height of 8 inches. How many cups of water must she scoop out of the sink with this cup to empty it? Round the number of scoops to the nearest whole number.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    A) ⅓*pi*2.5²*8 = 50/3 pi

    660pi : 50pi/3 = 39.6

    So 40 scoops

    B) ⅓*pi*5²*8 = 200pi/3

    660pi : 200pi/3 = 9.9

    So 10 scoops
