Which equation represents this situation?

Five less than a number is equal to three times the sum of the number and two?

A.) 5 - x = 3x + 2

B.) x - 5 = 2x + 3

C.) x - 5 = 3 (x + 2)

D.) 5 - x = 3 (2x)

    C.) x - 5 = 3 (x + 2)

    Really really sorry if I'm wrong ...

    One thing I can say is that when it says 5 less than a #, that means the # is being subtracted from another # ...
