    Question

    At the market, 8 apples cost $10. How much would 12 apples cost?

    You can solve with an equation,

    8 apples : 10$ = 12 apples : x (where x is the cost of 12 apples)

    8 : 10 = 12 : x

    x = 10 * 12 : 8

    x = 15$

    if 8 apples cost $ 4, then (4/8) = 1/2 (or 0.50) ... so each apple is 0.50 (or 50 cents)

    so if u want 9 apples, u will have to pay : 9 * 0.50 = $ 4.50 <=
