Can someone explain this (4+5) + 2=9+2

    The answer is 11. Reverse the question, 9+2=11 and (4+5) + 2 is also equal to 11. The parentheses around 4+5 just means that is what you multiply, add, subtract or whatever strategy your doing comes first. Don't make the parentheses confuse you.
