At the market you purchase some apples and oranges. There were 12 items purchased. You buy twice as many apples as oranges.

a. Define the variables.

b. Write an algebraic equation using one variable for the above situation.

c. Solve this equation for the number of apples and oranges you purchase

    Apples is 8 and Oranges is 4

    12/3=4 and then for the apples since its doubled it would be 4*2 which is 8 and 8+4=12
