A sandwich at the deli can be made of ham, beef, or turkey and can be put on wheat, white, or rye bread. How many combinations can be made if each sandwich contains one type of meat and one type of bread?

    First you find the number of the different types of meat so that's 3 and then bread also 3 and then multiply and get 9. There are 9 possible combinations
