    This statement is False

    Step-by-step explanation:

Because the discount is 10% of the already discounted 30%

But when it is 40% you are taking the 40% of the Original price not of the already discounted price

    The 40% would be cheaper

    Example: Item 1 cost $10

    40% of $10 is $4off

    So it would cost $6

    But 30%of $10 is $3 off

    So it would be $7

Then you take 10% of $7 which would be 0.70 off

So in total it would cost $6.30

    40% off would be cheaper

    Sorry for being too wordy
