How do you solve this logarithmic equation? 3x-5=log (down arrow) 2 1024

    3x - 5 = log base2 1024

    Log base 2 1024 can be rewritten log (base 2) 2^10

    log (base 2) 2^10 =

    10 * log (base 2) 2

    log (base 2) 2 = 1

    So 10 * log (base 2) 2 = 10

    3x - 5 = 10

    Add 5 to both sides

    3x = 15

    Divide both sides by 3

    x = 5
