How do you rewrite equations in slope intercept form?

    Slope intercept form is y = mx+b, so you can see that you set the equation equal to y. So if the equation is 2y+3x=6, then you solve for y to put it in slope intercept form.

    2y + 3x = 6

    2y = - 3x + 6

    y = (-3/2) x + 3

    Keep in mind that the term with the x has to be before the constant, so it can't be y = 3 - (3/2) x

    And by the way m is the slope and b is y-intercept, so in y = (-3/2) x + 3, - 3/2 is slope and (0,3) is y-intercept

    Slope intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

    Example of rewriting an equation:

    y-2x=3

    You would add 2x to both sides (therefore leaving the y alone since in slope intercept form the y is alone and you are trying to find what y equals).

    That would make the equation y=2x+3

    This is slope intercept form. In this case m=2 and b=3
