    If a snail travels 1/4 of a foot in TEN minutes, (1/4) / 10 = the rate per minute

    1/4 = 0.25

    0.25 / 10 = 0.025

    0.025 = 25/1000 = 1/40

    The snail travels 1/40 of an inch per minute
