Pat is driving from Seattle to Los Angeles. The distance is 1, 135 miles. For the first time 250 miles, it costs pat $0.29 a mile to drive. After that her driving cost is $0.16 a mile. What is pat's total driving cost?

    So, we would do $0.29 x 250 which would equal $72.50, then we would subtract the 250 miles he already drove from the total miles in order to get the miles he has left. And 1,135 - 250 = 885. So then we would do the miles he has left x the $0.16 which would = 141.6. Add 141.6 + 72.70 and your answer is $214.30
