Assume the probability of a boy being born is the same as the probability of a girl being born. find the probability that a family with five children will have the given composition. the two oldest children are girls.

    For independent events, the probability of A and B is P (A) * P (B), so since the sex of the first child has no bearing on the sex of the second and since the future children have no bearing either, assming a 50% chance of having a girl either time, the probability of having a girl the first two children is 50% * 50%, or 25%
