    Add the 2 equations together and cancel out the y terms

    3x+2x+2y-2y=5+5

    5x=10

    divide both sdies by 5

    x=2

    subsitute x=2 in any equation, i will use the first one

    3 (2) + 2y=5

    6+2y=5

    subtract 6 from both sdies

    2y=-1

    divide both sdies by 2

    y=-1/2

    x=2

    y=-1/2
