A freight train leaves the station traveling at 30mi/hr. One hour later, a passenger train leaves the same station on a parallel track traveling at 60 mi/hr. How far from the station does the passenger train overtake the freight train

    30 mph overtake speed

    =1 hr

    60 miles from station

    60 miles. If the first train is 30 miles from the station then it will take another hour to get to be 60 miles away from the station. in that same period of time (the remaining 1 hour) the second train would have also moved 60 miles.
