You divide the top by the bottom for example
1/2 = 1:2=.5

A fraction is just a short way of showing division. When you see a fraction,
it's really saying "the top number divided by the bottom number".
If you take those two numbers and DO the division, the answer to the division
will be the decimal form of the fraction.
