What is the value of 4/30 + 3/100?

    4/30+3/100

    first you need to find a common denominator. To do this, I normally just multiply the 1st fraction by the second denominator, and the 2nd fraction by the first denominator. Make sure to mulitply both the top and the bottom, so you don't accidentally shrink your value!

    4/30*100/100=400/3000

    3/100*30/30=90/3000

    400/3000+90/3000=490/3000

    you can simply by taking out a 10 from the final fraction to get 49/300, which I believe is the simpliest it can go.
