Sharon solved this problem.

The zoo needs 1436 pounds of hay each week to feed the animals. Hay costs $2.00 per pound. About how much does the zoo spend on hay each week?

Sharon said the zoo would spend $718 on hay each week.

Is Sharon's answer reasonable?

A.

Yes, because 1500 : 2 = 750, and the zoo needs 1436 pounds of hay each week, so the answer will be a bit more than this estimate.

B.

Yes, because 1400 : 2 = 700, and the zoo needs 1436 pounds of hay each week, so the answer will be a bit more than this estimate.

C.

No, because 1500 • 2 = 3000, and the zoo needs 1436 pounds of hay each week, so the answer will be a bit more than this estimate.

D.

No, because 1400 • 2 = 2800, and the zoo needs 1436 pounds of hay each week, so the answer will be a bit more than this estimate.

I'm thinking c because 1500 would cover the 1436 pounds of hay that you need and you would multiple by 2 and not divide
