If the total population of these four states is 27 million, how many peo-

    North Carolina = 2 * Oregon

    Arkansas = Oregon - 1,000,000

    North Carolina + Utah + Oregon + Arkansas = 27,000,000

    North Carolina = 3 * Utah

    Utah = 1/3 * North Carolina

    Utah = 1/3 * (2 * Oregon)

    (2 * Oregon) + (1/3 * (2 * Oregon)) + Oregon + (Oregon - 1,000,000) = 27,000,000

    2O + (1/3 * 2O) + O + O - 1,000,000 = 27,000,000

    2O + 2/3O + O + O - 1,000,000 = 27,000,000

    4 2/3 O - 1,000,000 = 27,000,000

    4 2/3 O = 28,000,000

    O = 6,008,584

    NC = 2O

    NC = 2 (6,008,584)

    NC = 12,017,167

    A = O - 1,000,000
