    We are given with an expression of x2 + bx + 30 and asked for the values of b which the binomial can be factored. The factors of 30 are - 1 and - 30 or 30 and 1, - 15 and - 2 or 15 and 2, 3 and 10 or - 10 and - 3. b can be equal to - 31, 31, 17, - 17, 13 or - 13. We just add the factors to get b. When the binomial is 2x2 + bx + 30. Using the same factors, b now becomes 32, - 32, - 62, 62, 23 and - 23.
