B + h = 34

b - h = 8 then b = h + 8

h + 8 + h = 34

2h + 8 = 34

2h = 34 - 8

2h = 26

h = 26/2

h = 13

b = h + 8

b = 13 + 8 = 21

Proof:

21 + 13 = 34

21 - 13 = 8

Value of bh = 21 * 8 = 168
