For which data representation is the median the better measure of center

    You should use a median as a measure of center when you have data that is not distributed evenly. For example, if you have a number that is a lot bigger or smaller than most of the numbers, using the mean would be a better way to show one value to represent the information. When representing data on a line/dot plot or a histogram, you should use the median to represent the data if it is skewed left or right. This means it looks longer on one side or when looking at the middle, it does not look the same on both sides (symetric).
