In a class, 45 students take the SAT exam. The number of boys is 8 more than the number of girls.

a. Write a system that models the above situation

b. Do you need to multiply any of the equations by a constant? If so, which equation and what is the constant?

    Well you have girls as x and boys as y so then its x+y = 45 and x+8 = y so then you can substitute to get 2x + 8 = 45 which i believe is a system but I'm not sure. then you solve to get a half ... thats not right but i think i hav the system part sorry
