First, start by adding like variables on the same side of the equal sign

    33+15w = 2w+4w 33+15w = 6w

Next, subtract 15w from both sides to get like terms on the same side

    33+15w (-15w) = 6w (-15w) 33=-9w

Finally, divide - 9 on both sides to get the variable alone

    33 (/-9) = -9w (-9) 24=w or w=24

3w minus w is 2w, + 4w is 6w. subtract 15 w both sides of the equation to get 33 on one side, and 9w on the other side. divide 9 on both sides, and the nswer is 3 and 2/3.
