How do you add 63 cents and 55 cents, using mental math

    You can break apart the numbers. For example, do 5+3 and then do 6+5 (in your head) then put the two numbers together. so you would get 118.

    First start with the 3 from 63 and 5 from 55

    you know from grade school math that that equals 8. now add the 6 and 5. that equals 11

    so your answer is 118.
