    Answer: x = 100

    Step-by-step explanation: In this problem, notice that we not only have a variable that's being multiplied by a number, 3 times x, we're also adding 10 to that particular variable.

    So to solve this, we must undo what's being done and we must do the same thing to both sides of the equation.

    Remembering that you must work in the reverse order of operations, the first thing that you're going to undo is what you're adding to the variable. So to undo the + 10, you will subtract 10 and again, you must do it from both sides.

    On the left, the 3x remains but notice that the + 10 and - 10 cancels so we're just left with 3x on the left. On the right, 310 - 10 is 300.

    So now we have 3x = 300.

    To undo our multiplication we will divide

    both sides of the equation by 3.

    3 divided by 3 just gives us the x leftover and our 300 divided by 3 gives us 100 so we have x = 100 which is the solution to our equation.

    3x+10=310

    3x+10-10=310-10

    3x=300

    3x/3=300/3

    x=100

    Therefore x is equal to one hundred
