Cost per share:

13 3/4 = 13 + 3/4 = (13 * 4 + 3) / 4 = (52 + 3) / 4 = 55 / 4

Selling price:

12

Loss per share: 55 / 4 - 12 = (55 - 48) / 4 = 7 / 4

7 / 4 = 4 / 4 + 3 / 4 = 1 + 3/4 = 1 3/4 = 1.75

Total loss = loss per share * number of shares

=> 50 * 1.75 = 87.5

Then u do 50times12 that gives u 600

Then u subtract 600 from 68750and it gives u 87.50
