First, complete the inverse and multiply both sides by 2

2 • x/2 < 4 • 2

Since on the left the x is being divided by 2, you need to multiply it to get x by itself. Likewise, you have to multiply the 4 by 2 to even out the equation.

The answer is x < 8.
