When the angle of elevation of the sun was 55 degrees, the length of the flagpole was 210ft. Find the height of the flagpole to the nearest foot.

    We have a right triangle;

    dа ta:

    Ф=55º

    adjacent=210 ft

    opposite=height of the flagpole=h

    tan Ф=opposite / adjacent

    tan 55º=h / (210 ft)

    h = (210 ft) * tan 55º

    h≈300 ft

    Answer: the height of the flagpole would be 300 ft.
