If liam buys 5 tacos (each costing $3.50)

    $3.50 x 5 = $17.50

this means he must now take $17.50 from his total $30

    $30 - $17.50 = $12.50

he now has $12.50 to spend on drinks

each drink cost $2 and so you must do $12.50 divided by $2 to determine how many drinks liam can buy.

    $12.50 divided by $2 = 6 (with $0.50 left over)

therefore, liam can buy 6 drinks, 5 tacos and still have $0.50 change
