    Perimeter is the addition of all the sides

    x-2+x+3x+1=2x-5+x+4+6x-7; since their perimeters are equal

    5x-1=9x-8

    collect the like terms

    -1+8=9x-5x

    7=4x

    x=7/4

    x=1.75
