    Area of square = x^2

    Area of rectangle = xy

Let x = side of square

    Let x + 3 = width of rectangle

    Let x + 5 = length of rectangle = y

    Here is the set up:

    x^2 + (x + 3) (x + 5) = 249

    You finish.
