If you are looking for the final amount paid after adding the sales tax to $1256 the you first have to multiply the pre-tax value (1256) by the sales tax (7% or 0.07) and you will get $87.92 (tax) then you add your pre-tax value to the tax (1256 + 87.92) and you will get $1343.92 as your final amount to pay
