Answer is when a is negative

To solve inequalities, you are trying to get the X variable by itself with a positive charge of 1. If the coefficient in front of it is negative, you must flip the sign in the other direction.

    Example:

    -3x < 9

divide each side by a negative 3. This means we have to flip the sign.

    x > - 3
