How to find the percent of something?

What you have / total x 100 = %

multiplying any number by 100 basically means to move the decimal place 2 places.

Think of a grade. If you have 5 out of 6 and you want to know the percent, take 5/6 (which equals. 83) and multiply it by 100 (which equals 83%).
