    Solving for x.

    Subtract 10 from both sides

    7x + 10 - 10 = 10x - 6 - 10

    Then simplify your equation

    7x = 10x - 16

    Then subtract 10x from both sides

    7x - 10x = 10x - 16 - 10x

    Then simplify

    -3x = - 16

    Divide both sides by - 3

    -3x = - 16

    __ __

    -3 - 3

    Then simplify which your answer would be

    x = 16/3

    Reason being that it turns into a positive because negative divided by negative results in a positive.
