    1 1/2 - 1/4 = 5/4 remaining

    5/4 divided by 5 = 1/4 per remaining speaker

Okay. So the keynote speaker has 1/4 of an hour to speak, which means that 1 1/4 hours or 75 minutes are left for speakers. To find out the amount of time for each of the remaining 5 speakers, you have to divide 75 by 5. 75/5=15. The remaining 5 speakers will have 15 minutes to give their speech.
