    Hello,

    Shall we begin?

    2 (x-1) = 14

    2x - 2 = 14

    2x = 14 + 2

    2x = 16

    x = 16/2

    x = 8

    Answers: x=8

    Well ... first do distributive property 2 multiplied by x is 2x and 2 multiplied by - 1 is - 2. then add - 2 top 14 so 2x=16. Then divide both side by 2 which gives you x=8.
