The figure below shows a triangular piece of cloth: Triangle ABC has angle ABC equal to 90 degrees and angle BAC equal to 35 degrees. Length of AC is 8 inches. What is the length of the portion BC of the cloth? 8 cos 35° sin 35 degrees divided by 8 cos 35 degrees divided by 8 8 sin 35°

    sin (35) = x/8 Multiply both sides by 8

    8 sin (35) = x We get rid of 8

    x=8 sin 35°
