    X + y = 33 ... eqn 1

    Y = 3 + 2x

    Put y into eqn 1

    X + 3 + 2x = 33

    3x = 33 - 3

    3x = 30

    X = 30/3

    X = 10 and y = 3 + 2x

    Y = 3 + 2 (10)

    Y = 3 + 20

    Y = 23

    Therefore the two numbers are 10 and 23
