This figure is 1/4 of a circle.

What is the best approximation for the perimeter of the figure?

Use 3.14 to approximate pi. (the figure is a quarter circle and at the two sides are 2 inches)

    Since the two sides are 2 inches, the radius is 2 inches too.

    First, let's find the perimeter of the entire circle. Since the formula for that is pi (diameter)

    you just put the numbers you know in to it.

    pi (2*2)

    pi (4)

    4pi

    Now, we have to divide that by 4 to get the arc part of the perimeter.

    4pi/4=pi

    Now, we add the two sides, which are 2 inches each.

    pi + 2 + 2 = pi+4

    The answer is pi+4 square inches
