Green Rug (Original Price) = $54.50

White Rug (Original Price) = $31.85

    12% markdown for green Rug = 12% x $54.50 = 0.12 x 54.5 = $6.54

    Price of the Green Rug after 12% markdown = $54.50 - $6.54 = $47.96

    16% markup for white Rug = 16% x $31.85 = 0.16 x 31.85 = $5.10 (nearest hundredth)

    Price of the White Rug after markup = $31.85 + $5.10 = $36.95

    Difference in Price = $47.96 - $36.95 = $11.01

Answer : (D) The green rug is $11.01 more expensive than the white rug.
